Gasthuisberg Outpatient Care Centre nominated for the 2019 MIPIM Awards
The MIPIM Awards, an internationally-renowned real estate competition at the property market MIPIM, nominated Gasthuisberg outpatient care centre Leuven in the category Best Healthcare Development.
The jury, chaired by Méka Brunel, CEO of Gecina, reviewed over 200 entries from 58 countries and shortlisted the top 4 projects in 11 competition categories. The winning projects will be selected by both MIPIM delegates voting in Cannes for projects of their choice and by the jury. The winners will be announced at the MIPIM Awards ceremony on Thursday, 14 March at 6.30pm in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
With the completion of the new outpatient care centre, the Health Sciences Campus Gasthuisberg Leuven is ready for rising ambulant patient care. 1 million visitors per year are expected. This wing consists of five floors and contains 400 consultation rooms.
The design had to meet very specific design requirements. The request for a strict separation between the circulatory flows and rooms for patients and doctors led to a highly rational, generic plan that permits flexible use. The consultation rooms are arranged around three building-high light wells.
