masterplan for a residential site, RUP guidance, allotment plan & architecture assignment
Adjacent to the Hof Ter Linden castle grounds, near Prins Boudewijnlaan, POLO Architects and Avantgarden are redeveloping two plots: one area for sports, games and recreation and one area for business. The Parkrand Spatial Implementation Plan transforms the plots into a residential area. For this qualitative development, it is vital that the project area remains accessible to the public and establishes a connection with the Hof Ter Linden castle grounds.
The plan envisages four residential project areas with compact building clusters. This way, green spaces are maximised and Hof Ter Linden is visually included in the project area and the wider environment.
The central piece of the design is the lush parkland garden, which blends into the adjacent 80 ha Park ter Linden estate, a stone’s throw from the Edegem fort. Every building affords magnificent views on the gardens, the ponds or the park.
This integrated residential project comprises a total of 385 entities, divided in several types of accommodation and functionalities, aiming to attract a mix of different generations.
