Businesspark 16 Melsele
new multi-purpose business spaces, warehouses & offices
This site is located on a vacant plot near the E17 motorway. The explicit purpose for this plot is to design a building that strengthens the image of the surrounding area.
PAVED OUTDOOR AREA
The design consists of two stretched volumes with a paved outdoor area, with the building forming a logical division of the terrain. Two central cores organise the vertical circulation between the ground floor, the raised car park and the four building layers of the office building.
Through its implantation, the building is given two different faces. On the streetside, it has a uniform urban character, whereas the inner area offers more space for diversity and transparency in the architecture. The concept is based on a volumetric ensemble, in which a wide range of units with different functions and sizes can be housed.
WIDE RANGE OF COMPANIES
The project's biggest asset is its multifunctional character, with a unique combination of offices, showrooms, storage rooms, meeting rooms, etc. suitable to meet the needs of the most various companies. Despite the variety of interpretations, the buildings form an architectural and infrastructural unity. Because of its shape and position, the building will serve as a gateway to the rest of the area. The use of concrete walls and sandwich panels with a vertical slat structure gives the ensemble a refined appearance.
