2 POLO Architects projects honoured with the 2017 Fritz Höger Award
Every 3 years, the Fritz Höger Award honours high-quality brick constructions in contemporary architecture.
The 'Cadiz' project (designed by POLO Architects & META Architectuurbureau) received an honourable mention in the category of multi-storey residential buildings; the 'Flemish Administrative Centre' project was nominated for the category of office and commercial buildings.
With more than 600 submitted projects, this 4th edition once again confirmed its status as one of the most prestigious architecture awards in Germany.
Using a fully anonymous procedure, an independent jury selected some 50 projects during the first round. In the second round, the final winners of the competition were appointed. The official award ceremony took place on 6 October in Berlin.
More than 50 selected projects are put on show in the German Architecture Centre (DAZ) in Berlin. The exhibition runs until 6 November and gives an impressive overview of international brick architecture in 2017.
